A Taste of Bhutan: Fresh from Our Garden to Your Table
Discover traditional Bhutanese flavours, seasonal ingredients and the warmth of wood-fired cooking at Wangdue Eco Lodge.

From Our Garden to Your Plate
At Wangdue Eco Lodge, our menu begins in the garden. We grow a variety of seasonal vegetables and harvest them fresh for our kitchen, bringing the natural flavours of the season directly to your plate.
When our garden is between harvests, our chef personally visits the local market to select the freshest produce available. Our approach is simple: fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation and delicious home-style cooking.

Bhutanese cuisine is the heart of our kitchen. From the comforting flavours of ema datshi to freshly prepared seasonal vegetables and traditional red rice, our meals offer an authentic taste of Bhutan.
We also have a traditional wood-fired oven, where food is cooked over a wood fire, bringing the warmth and character of traditional cooking to our kitchen.
Alongside Bhutanese cuisine, our chef prepares Indian and Continental dishes to suit different tastes.
No Fixed Menu. Your Meal, Your Choice.

We don't believe in preparing large buffets or following a fixed menu. Instead, we prefer to cook something fresh, especially for you.
When you arrive at Wangdue Eco Lodge, our team will ask about your food preferences and dietary requirements. We'll share what's available from our garden and the local market, then work with you to create a menu that suits your tastes.
Whether you're eager to try Bhutan's famous chillies and cheese or prefer a familiar Indian or Continental meal, your food is freshly prepared according to your preferences.
Good Food, Beautiful Views

After a day exploring Wangdue and Punakha, return to a freshly cooked meal overlooking the magnificent Wangdue Phodrang Dzong.

At Wangdue Eco Lodge, the freshest ingredients inspire the menu, and you help us decide what goes on your plate.
